As the Director of Quality Engineering for FIS Digital Platform directs the quality assurance engineering team. This role develops, publishes, and provides governance related to testing standards and procedures within the Digital Platform group. In this role, you will head the test engineering team members who are aligned to agile teams and are responsible for automating test cases which provide test coverage for FIS' Digital Platform APIs and back-end processes.

The Director of Quality Assurance Engineering is responsible for ensuring compliance with company policies, regulations, governance requirements, functional, and non-functional requirements for a given project. Additionally, this role is responsible for the creation and enforcement of quality standards specific to the Digital Platform organization.

This role reports directly to the Vice President of API Engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ownership of test platforms/environments and test data needs.

  • Interacting with CI/CD teams to ensure proper gates are in place.

  • Manage performance, security, OSS, and compliance testing practices working with engineering and operations teams to continuously improve the software delivery cycle.

  • Participate in the career development of other team members, providing mentoring on new technologies and complex issues, and helping managers guide career growth for team members.

  • Manage vendor relationships related to test tooling.

Base Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.

  • 8+ years of experience in leading engineering quality assurance teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate activities across cross-functional teams, negotiate complex situations, and generate successful outcomes for teams.

  • Advanced knowledge of full SDLC and test automation best practices for large scale API-based software products, with focus on CI/CD practices and automated testing.

FIS is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive compensation. The pay range for this full-time position is $145,900.00 - $245,120.00 and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position based on the posted role, level, and location. Within the range, actual individual starting pay is determined additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Any changes in work location will also impact actual individual starting pay. Please consult with your recruiter about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
